In the first half of 2016 I made a world trip with my family to Australia, New Zealand and the USA. For me this journey was a starting point. A starting point for a transition to something new. I think it is important to keep challenging yourself. I also notice this with my patients. Many of them want to make a new start, because they want to close a certain phase of their life, in which they have sometimes experienced less pleasant things. An aesthetic ‘update’ of yourself can sometimes contribute to closing a certain phase of your life, so that my patients can literally make a new start.
The photos that serve as background on this website were taken during my journey and symbolize my new start. I am grateful if I can contribute to the new start of every patient.
During that trip, I always felt the need to focus more in terms of work. That is when I decided to devote myself entirely to aesthetic plastic surgery.
I am married and I have three children. In my spare time I like to run, do fitness and occasionally play the piano.
My areas of interest are the face (facelift, nose correction, forehead lift, eyelid correction, protruding ears correction, neck correction), breast corrections (breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift and gynecomastia correction), liposuction and lipofilling of the face and body. By attending many international conferences and courses, I stay up-to-date. So my patients can expect state-of-the-art work.
I passed my medical exam in 1995 at Utrecht University. After my preliminary training in general surgery at the St Joseph Hospital in Veldhoven, I completed the follow-up training in plastic surgery at the University Medical Center St Radboud in Nijmegen in 2005.
I was educated in several hospitals to be an all-round plastic surgeon. After my registration as a plastic surgeon in 2005, I started working in the partnership Twente/Achterhoek. I have become very experienced in all aspects of plastic surgery. The face has always had my special attention. It reflects a person’s soul and every face is unique. I have been able to help many children with a hare lip (cleft). I also set up a team for people with facial paralysis (facialis parese) so that I could gain experience in this disease, which fortunately is rare, but has a huge impact on someone’s life.
It requires a personal, tailor-made treatment. That is what makes the work so fascinating. With every customer I keep asking myself:
“Am I able to bring that change that will makes the client happier?” It is always nice when this works, but it sometimes also means saying “no”.
